Double Diamond, Inc. was incorporated in February 1996, when husband and wife John and Jeanni Musgrave formed their own consulting company. John was the software developer, and became Double Diamond Systems. Jeanni was the graphic designer who became Double Diamond Design.  

We lived in Tahoe City, California at the time. This small town is on the north shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, with some of the best skiing in the world in the mountains surrounding the lake. In the winter, skiing was our favorite pastime when we weren’t working.

The designation “Double Diamond” in skiing means “Experts Only” with regard to the difficulty of a particular ski run. We named the company Double Diamond, because we consider ourselves experts in our respective occupations. John’s mother thought we chose the name because we were both “gems.” Well, she was a little biased. The red swash on the home page represents slalom ski tracks.
